This page is dedicated to military personnel stationed around the world. Some are in combat and some are not but they are all protecting us from the forces that would take away our freedom. This page is a salute to their skill and bravery. Mostly it is a heartfelt thanks to the men and women that have left their homes and families to make sure we can enjoy the freedom we often take for granted.

Capt. Matt gave up his surfboard in the States for the controls of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in Iraq. He sent
these shots of his crew after a mission over Baghdad. Its 110 degrees and headed for 120. There is lots of
sand but not much surf on the Tigris river. Right now Matt has to be content planning for the wood longboard he
will build when his 15 month tour is over.
Military people everywhere, send me your pictures for this page. You don't have to be in a combat zone. I'll post anything you send.....well, you know, almost anything. This is a family site.....

Matt and the guys take a leisurely (yeah, right) flight over "the hood".

Dave, an associate professor at the
U.S. Naval War College, shows a Rhode
Island wave some attitude.
Great shot Dave. Judging from the wet
suit you have the opposite problem the
guys in Iraq are having with temperature.
Dave and a friend are about to get
started on a wood board so we should
have some good shots soon.
Lt. Col. Carl and another good surf buddy Chris at Sarajevo, Yugoslavia in late 1995 flying Air Force MH-53J Pave Low
helicopters. Today Cal is stationed in Florida and is building his wood surfboard in his off time.
Lt. John Bayer is stationed on the USS Iwo Jima and is shown here passing through the Suez Canal. The Iwo Jima is
currently on deployment in the Arabian Gulf. John is looking foreword to building a longboard and maybe the SUP when
he returns stateside.
